Short course on Trade and the Blue Economy

The Shridath Ramphal Centre for International Trade Law, Policy and Services (SRC) at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, and the University of Newcastle, are pleased to be jointly hosting a free virtual workshop/short course on “Trade and the Blue Economy” with a focus on CARICOM countries from 3-7 October 2022. Commercial Diplomacy

Overview. Students study the core principles of international trade system (ITS), and mechanisms of its development
The aims of the course are:

  • To teach students to understand the main problems and prospects of modern processes of regional integration and trade liberalization.
  • To develop skills of preparing and conducting international trade negotiations, including negotiations on bilateral trade liberalization.

CONTEMPORARY ISSUES OF EU ECONOMIC POLICY

The module is devoted to the contemporary economic position of the European Union as both integrated entity and community of independent countries. Different aspects of EU common policy in various economic areas are analyzed. Principal attention is paid to the implications of the global economic/financial crisis of 2008-2010  for the EU.
 
Key objective: outlining main regularities of the modern economic policy’ realization  in the European Union
 

External Dimension of the EU Performance

The module deals with relations between the EU and its external environment. The focus is on the EU positioning in the modern world, key trends of the contemporary integration process from the point of view of international trade, investments, financial markets development and labor forces migration as well as on the recommendation of using the best EU practice for other countries and regions of the World.
Aims:

Free trade agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam and its place in Eurasian integration projects

This presentation deals with the FTA between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam and its place in Eurasian integration projects.

Trade in goods of the EAEU countries with China and the effects of its possible liberalization

This presentation deals with trade in goods of the Eurasion Economic Union countries with China and the effects of further liberalization.
