Xinquan Tu
Dean and Professor
The Chair holder, Professor TU Xinquan, is the Dean and Professor of the China Institute for WTO Studies (CIWTO) at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). He graduated from Peking University in 1996 and got his doctoral degree in international trade from UIBE in 2004. He took part in the establishment of CIWTO in 2000 and has been working with it for two decades. He has plenty of international academic experience, being a visiting scholar at Johns Hopkins University, WTO Secretariat, KIEP, Indiana University, German Institute of International and Security Affairs, and MIIS at Monterrey. His research and teaching focus on WTO, Chinese trade policy and US-China trade relations. He authored China’s position, role and strategy in the WTO, China’s interactions with the multilateral trading system in the 40 years of reform and opening-up and published a number of papers on academic journals like Journal of World Trade, and book chapters in both Chinese and English. He has been granted numerous research projects by the China Social Science Foundation, the Ministries of Commerce, Education, Finance etc. He is also a member of FMG, AWRN, TIRN, and WEF Trade Action Group and Secretary-General of Network on International Trade and Investment System (NITIS).
