Azam Amjad Chaudhry

Azam Amjad Chaudhry is the Pro-Rector, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Co-Director of the Innovation and Technology Centre (ITC) at the Lahore School of Economics.  Before his time at the Lahore School of Economics, he worked as an economist at the World Bank and taught at Brown University and Boston University.  He completed his PhD at Brown University and his dissertation focused on the role of institutions in cross-country economic growth and development.  Dr. Chaudhry’s current research looks at the impact of innovation and technology adoption on firm-level worker productivity and the role of industrial policy in economic growth.   He has also worked on understanding how behavior responses and social networks impact outcomes in developmental programs.   His research has been published in academic journals like the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review, the World Bank Economic Review, World Development and Research Policy.
