Alain Babatoundé
Associate professor, Economics
Alain L. Babatoundé is Associate Professor in economics, teaching at the Economic Department, University of Abomey-Calavi (Benin). His scientific expertise covers financial and monetary macroeconomics, finance, economic policies, development economics. He is associate researcher at the Center for Research in Economics (CRE) and the Chair of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Cotonou. He is author of various scientific publications in regional and international specialized journals, covering, among other things, issues of contextualization of economic theories in the fields of monetary policy, financial architecture, economy financing, trade policies, with application in developing countries in general and WAEMU in particular. Since 2020, he is associate researcher with Development Finance & Public Policy, the research unity of the University of Namur (Belgium). He is a member of various academic and research networks including the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), the International Association of Francophone Researchers in Microfinance (AICFM). Since 2016, he is the national coordinator of the Campus of the Senghor University in Cotonou (Benin), a partnership between Senghor University (Alexandria, Egypt) and University of Abomey-Calavi (Benin) represented by the WTO Chair. For this, he coordinates the Master's program in International Project Management. Expert in policy and strategy for public decision-making, he is a consultant for various national and international institutions including government agencies, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the World Bank, the African Development Bank ( AfDB). His expertise covers the development of national and sectoral policies, economic and sectoral analysis, evaluation of public policies and institutions.
