Pitching Research by Prof Faff (Professor and Director of Research at the UQ business)

The WTO Chair in collaboration with the Doctoral School at UoM and the ICSTH organised a seminar on "Pitching Research", by Prof Faff, Professor and Director of Research at the UQ business School on Friday 27 July 2018.
Abstract: In short, the workshop identifies, explains and illustrates a simple structured framework/tool to successfully communicate the (early origins of) key elements of a research idea to an academic expert in the field. Accordingly, this tool provides a sound basis for planning a research publication strategy.

Returns on Foreign Investment during the pre-1914 era: The case of Russia. European Review of Economic History

Portfolio investors during 1880–1914 were motivated by the prospect of higher (ex-ante) expected returns and the search for diversification. At the London stock exchange, such overseas portfolios also realised higher (ex-post) returns than domestic portfolios. However, this result cannot be generalised.
