Ce rapport est la contribution de l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO) dans le cadre du projet TCP/TUN/3801 «Réponses aux conséquences de la crise de la covid‑19 sur les chaînes de valeur alimentaires et la sécurité alimentaire en Tunisie», qui vise à appuyer le gouvernement tunisien à travers le Ministère de l’agriculture et des ressources hydrauliques et de la pêche (MARHP) à faire la relance post-covid‑19.

Economic, financial, and social ties are strong between the European Union and its neighborhood. More resilient societies in the EU’s neighborhood would mean that they are liable to suffer less damage from regional conflicts and global crises – and this in turn has positive implications for European states.

The Tunisian olive oil strategy is based on the development of exports. Extension and modernization measures of Tunisian olivegrove have come into effect these recent years in order to increase the exports and diversify the target markets. Like any other agricultural good, olive oil is subject to world price fluctuations. Forecasting the long-term world price of olive oil is essential both as a decision-making tool and as a strategic factor for the development of the sector. This paper attempts to forecast the long-term olive oil world price using annual time series.

Arab intra-regional trade in agro-food accounts for more than half of the total Arab agro-food trade, displaying strong “trade-intensity” over the past decade. This indicates the potential of developing agro-food regional production networks aligning with the region’s comparative advantage in agro-food products. However, intermediates trade, as an indicator of value chain integration, has been low and sluggish due to various structural and policy factors.

For several years, the Zambian economy relied on the mining sector, which has been affected by fluctuations in commodity prices. The new century enhanced the calls for economic diversification, with the agricultural, manufacturing, and services sectors amongst those pronounced. This article focused on the role of agriculture in supporting the economy, particularly, the effect of agriculture on economic growth. The data analyzed was reviewed for the period 1983–2017. The ARDL Bounds Test was applied in order to meet the said objectives.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have shone a spotlight on the importance of adaption to climate change. However, progress in achieving SDG 12 which calls for, “responsible consumption and production” has been stalled by the unavailability of indicators that adequately capture and motivate increased responsible consumption. To fill this gap, this article presents an alternative indicator that makes use of cultivar characteristics and uses South African fresh peach and nectarine exports as a focus area.
