The course "Trade and Other Concerns", offered by the Faculty of International Economics at Foreign Trade University (FTU), explores the complex relationships between international trade and selected non-trade issues such as poverty, inequality, gender, environment, and development. Designed for undergraduate students, the course provides a theoretical foundation and practical case studies to analyze how trade interacts with broader socio-economic and environmental concerns.
Structured over 15 sessions, the course covers topics including:
• Theoretical frameworks of development
• Trade dynamics in developing countries
• Trade’s impact on poverty, inequality, gender development, and the environment
Students are expected to develop critical thinking, research skills, and collaborative abilities through lectures, seminars, and self-study. The course emphasizes autonomy, creativity, and adaptability in diverse working environments.
