From May 13th to July 5th, 2024, the Regional Trade Policy Course (RTPC) for officials of the Asia-Pacific Members and Observers of the WTO was held at SUIBE. This eight-week course, jointly organized by SUIBE and the WTO, covered WTO agreements and related areas of regional trade policy. A total of 25 participants, including some high-level officials, from 15 WTO Asia-Pacific members and observers attended the training. Technical experts from various operational units of the WTO Secretariat, globally and regionally renowned scholars participated in the instruction. ZHANG Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the WTO delivered a speech online at the opening ceremony. HAN Yong, Director of the Department of World Trade Organization Affairs of MOFCOM; HAN Changtian, Deputy Director of the Department of World Trade Organization Affairs of MOFCOM; Bridget Chilala, Director of the Training and Technical Cooperation Division of the WTO; Vonai MUYAMBO, Director of the Regional Trade Policy Courses Division; Lissette NONALAYA ARANDA, Training Officer of the Regional Trade Policy Courses Division; ZHANG Guohua, Deputy Director-General and First-Class Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce; CAI Yongbo, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government Office in Shanghai; QI Ming, Secretary of the Party Committee of SUIBE; ZHANG Yiguo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SUIBE; HUANG Jianzhong, Director of the WTO RTPC Centre at SUIBE; and YING Pinguang, Dean of the WTO Chair Institute-China, attended both the opening and closing ceremonies.
