Joint UNCTAD- CAMS Workshop on Date Exports

The College of Agriculture and Marine Sciences at SQU, together with UNCATD organised a workshop on the date export development. The chair participated as a speaker on this workshop and delivered a speech on  “Export Promotion Policies and the WTO". The conference was coordinated by Dr Msafiri Mbaga, who benefited from the WTO chair programme support funding to conduct a date market survey in GENEVA and initiated the organisation of this workshop. The workshop focused on what should be done to enhance the production, quality, processing and export of date in Oman, and learn from the esperience of UNCTAD in conducting similar projects in other parts of the world. The workshop was attended by date farmers, processors, and exportets , academicians as well as students from Sultan Qaboos University.
