The Chair is a member of the UNDP-SIDA working group on trade and sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Arab region. The working group mission is to develop trade policy proposals within the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) that will enhance the implementation of the SDGs. The first meeting of the working group took place on May 9-10 2017 in Cairo Egypt. The objective was to consider and adopt a structured work program. and discuss background papers which are prepared as the basis for further deliberations and exchange of views.
