A workshop on trade in services was held from 25 to 27 August 2015 in Santiago de Chile within the framework of the WTO Chairs Programme.
The workshop, conducted jointly with experts from the University of Chile (a member of the WTO Chairs Programme) and REDLAS (the Latin American Network for Research on Services), brought together some 30 participants, including researchers, academics, and senior government officials.
The workshop addressed the role of services in economic development, international trade and global value chains (with a particular focus on Latin America), and took stock of recent developments in international services negotiations.
