Seventeen participants from a variety of disciplines (law, economics, political science, journalism and environmental sciences) took part in the workshop, which was taking place for the third time. The sessions were webcast live and were also recorded as a webinar for the benefit of those unable to attend.
Participants were from Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina as well as from other countries in Latin America (Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Paraguay). They were from a variety of backgrounds, including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, academia, ministries, embassies and international organizations.
The workshop covered various issues, including WTO rules and disputes relating to environmental protection, the Doha Round negotiations on environmental goods and multilateral environmental agreements.
