Mexico - 27 July 2022

Dr. Amrita Bahri, Co-Chair Professor, WTO Chairs Programme (Mexico) presented at a panel on the “Impact Assessment of Gender Provisions in RTAs: An empirical look at the African Experience”, at the Aid for Trade Review, World Trade Organization. The study aims to explore a case study in Africa which can work as an evidence to show how trade agreements can foster women empowerment. Using the numbers of decisions-makers in East Africa before and after the EAC and COMESA, the aim is to show how these agreements and their ratification have increased the number of women leaders in the region.
