The WTO Chair for Mexico conducted outreach activities in Guadalajara 22-24 August 2018, featuring presentations by Maria Pereyra, Senior Counsellor, Legal Affairs Divisions, Dr. Edna Ramirez Robles, Professor at the University of Guadalajara and Tec de Monterrey (Campus Guadalajara), and Dr. Bradly Condon, Chairholder, WTO Chair for Mexico. On August 22, we met with the Director of International Affairs for the University of Guadalajara. On August 23, we served as judges in a moot court and then presented a course on the WTO dispute settlement system to 60 students and professors at the Tec de Monterrey (Campus Guadalajara). On August 24, we presented a course on the WTO dispute settlement system to 40 students and professors at the University of Guadalajara. On August 24, we presented a talk on the WTO dispute settlement system to a luncheon hosted by the private sector in Guadalajara. On 27-29 August 2018, Maria Pereyra, Senior Counsellor, Legal Affairs Divisions and Dr. Edna Ramirez Robles, Professor at the University of Guadalajara and Tec de Monterrey (Campus Guadalajara), delivered a three-day advanced dispute settlement course at ITAM (Mexico City), to Mexican government officials, professors and students (see attached list of participants and the programme). The course also featured a round table discussion on the challenges faced by the WTO dispute settlement system, featuring Carlos Véjar (Holland & Knight), Mateo Diego-Fernandez (AGON), Bradly Condon, Maria Pereyra, Senior Counsellor, Legal Affairs Divisions and Dr. Edna Ramirez Robles, Professor at the University of Guadalajara and Tec de Monterrey (Campus Guadalajara).
