Course on International Relations in the Indian Ocean Region (IRIOR)

The University of Mauritius is co-hosting together with Curtin University, Australia a short course entitled “International Relations in the Indian Ocean Region” from 30 January-10 February 2023. The course is funded by the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). This course involves the participation of postgraduate students and academics from Curtin University (Australia/Mauritius), the University of Mauritius, the University of Pretoria (South Africa), Paramadina University (Indonesia), Jawaharlal Nehru University (India) and the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh).
Thirty-five students and academics from these different Universities will be in Mauritius. The course will be in a hybrid mode, with presentations by both local and foreign resource persons, intervening either in person or online. Resource persons from academia, private sector and ministries will share their knowledge and existing work on the Indian Ocean Region with the participants. Participants will engage in group work and need to do a group presentation at the end of the course.
