WTO CHAIR IN VIETNAM - FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY

The Trade Facilitation course (TMAE410), offered by the School of International Business & Economics at Foreign Trade University, provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the policies, practices, and infrastructure that reduce trade transaction costs and enhance the efficiency of cross-border trade. As global tariffs decline and quotas are removed, trade facilitation has become a critical component of international trade policy, particularly in the context of the WTO’s Trade Facilitation Agreement and regional integration efforts.
This course explores the conceptual foundations of trade facilitation, its measurement and reform strategies, and the role of infrastructure and services in enabling efficient trade flows. Students will examine case studies from Vietnam, Asia, and the Pacific, and gain practical insights into the implementation of trade facilitation measures. Emphasis is placed on developing analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, while fostering professional ethics, adaptability, and a socially responsible mindset in addressing trade facilitation challenges.
