Pakistan Economy & Foreign Trade 2 is a foundational course designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Pakistan’s macroeconomic management, trade dynamics, and investment landscape. With a focus on fiscal and monetary policy, balance of payments, trade and investment linkages, and industrial development, the course equips learners with the analytical tools to evaluate economic challenges and policy responses in a globalized context.
Module 1 explores fiscal and monetary policy frameworks, including taxation, debt sustainability, policy coordination, and the implications of financial globalization. Module 2 addresses balance of payments issues, structural adjustment programs, and the stabilization-growth trade-off, supported by empirical studies and international case comparisons. Module 3 examines the interplay between trade, investment, and economic growth, highlighting the role of foreign direct investment, public-private partnerships, and strategic initiatives like CPEC, SEZs, and BITs. Module 4 focuses on industrial policy, export diversification, and the political economy of industrial development, drawing lessons from regional experiences and recent research.
Through a blend of theoretical insights, policy analysis, and case studies, the course prepares participants to critically assess Pakistan’s economic trajectory and contribute to informed trade and development strategies.
