Legal foundations of trade and trade policy
This course provides a rigorous examination of the legal principles and institutional frameworks that underpin international trade and trade policy, with a particular focus on the World Trade Organization (WTO) system. Delivered through a combination of pre-session assignments, intensive on-site instruction at the trapca/ESAMI campus in Arusha, Tanzania, and post-session assessments, the course equips students with a deep understanding of the legal architecture governing global trade.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to critically assess trade rules, understand their application in various contexts, and contribute effectively to trade policy formulation and legal negotiations at national, regional, and multilateral levels.
