The main objective of this module it to discuss the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement, the different protocols, the annexes to the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area, milestones of the AfCFTA Agreement and the the difference or similarities of AfCFTA agreement and WTO Agreement. By the end of this module, students should be able to:
• Discuss the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area
• Discuss the Protocol on Trade in goods
• Discuss the Protocol on Trade in services
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Protocol on rules and procedures for the settlement of dispute
• Discuss the Protocol on Investment
• Describe the Protocol on Women and Youth in Trade
• Describe the Protocol on Intellectual Property Rights
• Describe the Protocol on Competition
• Analyze the annexes to the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area
• Analyse the milestones of the AfCFTA Agreement
• Explain the difference or similarities of AfCFTA agreement and WTO Agreement.
