On April 24, 2023 WCP Chair in Costa Rica (the National University of Costa Rica) jointly with SIECA Chair will hold a SIECA Workshop in Guatemala city, Guatemala.

Despite being considered as one of the most successful recent conferences in terms of the agreements reached, the 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12), presents certain challenges to WTO Members in the Central American region in terms of aligning national legislations to implement the agreements reached.

Thus, the workshop is aimed to cover the dynamics of current international trade demand processes of construction of actions that allow progress in the objectives set by the different protagonists of commercial exchange at a global level, as well as generate a preliminary discussion of what MC13 will be and the issues that should be included and the challenges in which these matters countries have.

In order to demonstrate the regional scope of the issue, representatives from Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica will be involved in the workshop. The workshop will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala and its programme is twofold: first, sessions for public sector (government) officials in conjunction with the Secretary for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA), and second, sessions for students, academics, researchers, and representatives of Business Chambers.
