DDG Zhang: Trade plays a unique role in scaling up circular economy solutions
It is becoming increasingly important to ensure that trade policies are designed and implemented in line with the goals of a circular economy, Deputy Director-General Ambassador Xiangchen Zhang said on 21 September in a virtual workshop entitled “Trade, Circular Economy and Sustainability”. The workshop was organised by the Universitas Gadjah Mada of Indonesia, a member of the WTO Chairs Programme. DDG Zhang further highlighted the importance of the workshop in promoting better understanding of the interactions between trade and sustainable development. His remarks are below.
