Course description: This course is intended to map the participation of Caribbean economies in global trade and global value chains. It is geared towards strengthening the capacity of students to think critically about the changing global economy and the options for economic diversification, industrial upgrading and global competitiveness in the Caribbean Region and other small states. Students will be introduced to a range of methodological tools and the sessions will involve a mix of lectures, presentations, hands-on training exercises, debates and case discussions that allow for dynamic exchange among students and faculty on the issues of trade and innovation policy governance.
