This course focuses on the World Trade Organization and its various rules, laying a solid foundation for further in-depth study of other international trade rules. It enables students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific rules of WTO law and their underlying principles, while cultivating their proficiency in legal English and information retrieval skills during the learning process.
The course content is broad in scope, covering nearly all rules related to the WTO. It includes the WTO's institutional framework, dispute settlement, trade barriers, fundamental principles, as well as anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard measures, technical trade regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and intellectual property, among others. The course aims to enhance students' abilities in analyzing and solving problems. It requires students not only to master trade knowledge but also to understand the fundamental logic of legal aspects.
