On November 7-9, 2023, the WTO "China Project" Seminar on Best Practices for the Least Developed Countries Trade Policy Review was held in Shanghai. The WTO Chair Institute-China was invited to provide academic and technical support for this event. A total of 32 representatives of trade officials from 19 least developed country members of the WTO attended the seminar. The seminar was organized around the themes of benefits for the least developed countries from the trade policy review process and best practices in trade policy review. Experts from the WTO secretariat and invited Chinese experts delivered lectures, elaborating on how trade policy evolves, how the experience of trade policy review contributes to the evolution of trade policy, as well as the challenges faced by the least developed countries undergoing trade policy review and the related recommendations.
