Launch of the online course on Legal Instruments of International Economic Relations and Regional Integration (3rd Edition)

The 9 week on line course on "Legal Instruments of International Economic Relations and Regional Integration" is organized by the University of Barcelona in collaboration with Fundación CEDDET (Spain) and the Virtual Institute of UNCTAD. The Instituto de Estudios Internacionales of the Universidad de Chile, the WTO Chair holder in Chile, has also helped in its inception.
The course has been designed from an interdisciplinary and policy oriented perspective. It aims to provide knowledge of the basic elements of international economic law (in particular in trade and trade-related areas) in the form of a “must-have toolbox” for professionals contributing to the attainment of their countries' policy objectives.
The six modules of the course will cover:

  • Legal aspects of international economic relations and regional integration
  • Institutional framework
  • International regime on goods and services exchanges, investment, movement of workers and macroeconomic and monetary co-operation
  • Multilateral trading system: WTO law
  • European integration
  • Innovative thinking

The course will start on 8 October and end on 9 December 2012.
