This outreach activity was designed in a focused group discussion (FGD) format with scholars and government officials at the Economic Research Unit of Indonesian Science Association. Topics presented include:
■ The twin phenomena of global pandemic of Covid-19 and 2020 global recession
– Covid-19 as the trigger for 2020 global recession
– Current state of affairs: 25+ (developed and developing) countries are in recession now
– Projected worst scenario of global economic growth: a global depression?

O objetivo deste seminário é instar grandes especialistas, nacionais e internacionais, a oferecer um balanço sistemático das alterações globais, passado um ano desde o início da pandemia. A proposta é que este balanço sirva, por meio de um documento de trabalho, de subsídio para discussões sobre estratégias de inserção internacional do Brasil. Amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic situation, UPH Faculty of Law and UPH CITI put together a webinar with international law experts, including Michael Ewing-Chow from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Aidonna Jan Ayub from Khazanah Research Institute in Malaysia, Junianto James Losari from UMBRA, Indonesia, Jessica Los Banos, Michelle Limenta and Jerry Shalmont from Universitas Pelita Harapan in Indonesia to discuss impacts and challenges that the society and governments face due to COVID-19.
