International Trade Remedies course
The International Trade Remedies course (PLU431) is a core subject in the Bachelor of Law program specializing in International Trade Law at Foreign Trade University. This course provides students with comprehensive legal knowledge and practical skills related to trade remedy measures aimed at ensuring fairness in international trade. It covers key instruments such as anti-dumping, countervailing, and safeguard measures under the WTO framework, as well as provisions in new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs) involving Vietnam.
Students will analyze relevant regulations from the WTO, selected FTAs, and major jurisdictions including the United States, the European Union, and Vietnam. The course emphasizes the practical application of these rules, equipping students to assist Vietnamese enterprises in navigating trade remedy investigations and to advise state agencies on implementing fair trade measures. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply legal reasoning, conduct independent research, and demonstrate professional responsibility in addressing trade remedy issues in both domestic and international contexts.
