Geoeconomics

This article introduces geoeconomics as a new analytical framework for understanding the contemporary international order, marked by multiple crises and the fragmentation of the multilateral trade system. The study adopts a multidisciplinary approach that connects International Economics, International Law, and International
Relations, emphasizing the instrumentalization of trade, financial, and technological policies by states and corporations to achieve geopolitical objectives. The article highlights the rivalry between major powers, particularly the United States and China, and underscores the need to assess the impacts of this scenario on countries such as Brazil. Geoeconomics is presented as a key tool for interpreting current global challenges and for guiding public policies and corporate strategies in a world increasingly shaped by economic security concerns.
