The CORES project focuses on “measuring firms vulnerability in developing countries to the shock of Covid-19″. It is directed by Leila Baghdadi (ESSEC Tunis) and Mohamed Ali Marouani (UMR D&S, IRD and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), in collaboration with Lisa Chauvet (DIAL / LEDA team, IRD and Université Paris-Dauphine) and Majdi Hassen ( ESSEC Tunis).
The main objectives of this project are first to identify the main factors of vulnerability/resilience of firms. They are then to develop a synthetic indicator to measure the effects of social distancing and confinement of a large part of the world on Tunisian firms. Finally, they aim to extend the analysis to other developing countries with similar data. The empirical work is based on a survey of 1,200 Tunisian small and medium-sized enterprises.
The project received funding from Agence nationale de recherches sur le sida et les hépatites virales (ANRS).
